Who are the Caledonia LIONS?

For nearly 60 years, the Caledonia LIONS Club has served the community through a number of fundraising efforts. In 1970, the LIONS outdoor pool was build and in 1971 the LIONS contributed to the building of the Caledonia fairgrounds arena. In 1991, the club helped to build lights at the soccer field at McKinnon Park Secondary School and in 2002 we donated the gazebo at the baseball diamond on Greens Road.

Those fundraising efforts continue to this day through a variety of projects, including the annual Walk for Dog Guides and our annual fish fry event.

We’re proud to serve the community of Caledonia and look forward to doing so for many years to come. We currently meet on the second and fourth Thursday of each month at our new LIONS Community Centre on Haddington St. in Caledonia.

It was on November 16, 1960 that a group of Caledonia citizens banded together to form the Caledonia LIONS Club in an effort to serve the community.

While meetings have shifted from the McKinnon Park Secondary School gym to the Union Hotel and from the Royal Canadian Legion to the Niagara Restaurant (currently Jai Xing), the focus has never changed: The Caledonia LIONS Club remains committed to serving the community of Caledonia through our fundraising efforts.
